Database Administrator

Duties and Responsibilities

 

-          Installation, configuration and upgrade of IBM DB2 server software and related products (fix pack)

-          Establish and maintain database backup and recovery policies and procedures for e-government applications including the Portal

-          Perform database tuning and performance monitoring

-          General technical troubleshooting and provide consultation to the Applications development teams including the portal

-          Ensure Applications database (including the portal) problems are resolved within acceptable SLA timeframes

-          Plan growth and changes (capacity planning)

-          Work as part of a team and provide 24x7 support when required

-          Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges)

-          Maintain and update the database design and implementation

 

Qualifications & Certifications

Minimum Bachelor in Computer Science, IT or MIS / Engineer

DB2 Admin certified

Experience Required

 

§         Minimum 3 years in a capacity similar to e-Government

§         Relational Data Base Management experience and preferably for DB2 such as installation, configuration, tuning and performance enhancement

§         Portal Experience is a plus

Skills and expertise Required

§         Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing both in English and Arabic.

§         Ability to work harmoniously as a member of a team.

§         Customer oriented

§         Preferred Training:

-          DB2 Administration Training

-          ITIL foundation
